Jan Böttger is Managing Partner at 365 Sherpas – Corporate Affairs & Policy Advice with responsibility for the Berlin and Brussels offices.
Since 2014 he has been advising corporate, association and public sector clients across all sectors on policy and strategic positioning, multichannel political communication and responsible lobbying at 365 Sherpas – Corporate Affairs & Policy Advice. He is also a crisis and change communication specialist.
Before joining 365 Sherpas – Corporate Affairs & Policy Advice Jan held senior management positions at Ketchum Pleon (PLEON Kohtes Klewes), ultimately as head of the Berlin office with responsibility for the corporate & public affairs unit, between 2005 and 2014. Jan began his career in 2004 at Media Consulta, where he developed pan-European information campaigns for political institutions and associations.
Jan has been a member of the executive education team at Quadriga University in Berlin, where he lectures on lobbying strategy development, public affairs and digital public affairs, since 2013. In the published anthologies “Wahlanalyse 2017. Strategie. Kampagne. Bedeutung.” [Election Analysis 2017. Strategy. Campaign. Significance.] (2017) and “Trends der politischen Kommunikation“ [Political Communication Trends] (2004), Jan collaborated with policymakers, researchers, and political and communication consultants to analyse and assess political communication strategies and tools in Germany.
He gained a degree in media studies, political science and psychology at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. During his time as a student he worked at the constituency office of a German MP and at the national party’s campaign headquarters during the 2002 national election campaign, and initiated the first political communication congress for students in Germany.
