Serkan Agci, born in Kamen in 1976, studied political science, modern and contemporary history and sociology in Giessen and Münster. He worked as a tutor and led student seminars during his time at university.

In 2008 he began working for  the Norddeutscher Rundfunk broadcasting corporation as editorial assistant and freelance journalist, mainly for online media. Between 2011 and 2013 he managed the office of Sylvia Wowretzko, a member of the Hamburg state parliament.

From there he transferred to the German Bundestag, where he was appointed as spokesperson for the Lower Saxony/Bremen regional factions. He worked for the SPD party executive from 2014 onwards, managed the office of Hannelore Kraft, was deputy spokesperson for the SPD and, most recently, party spokesperson during the exploratory talks and coalition negotiations between the CDU, CSU and SPD.

Serkan joined the 365 Sherpas senior team as director in June 2018.
