WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK HERE

Patrick Simm talks about his first days and weeks at 365 Sherpas, what it’s like to be a consultant and how it feels to work in our multidisciplinary team.

HOW WE WORK

Our dedicated team of experienced and specialist all-rounders provide corporate affairs and policy advice to enterprises, associations and government ministries.

The journey we take with our clients from base camp to summit enables them to reap the rewards of commercial or political success, reputation gain and communications that hit the target. It’s often long, sometimes hard and almost always an emotional roller coaster. On that journey it’s always a good idea to collaborate with partners who know their job, have an awareness of the client’s needs and can deliver the effective preparations and reliable support necessary to achieve the objective. Our consultants have the perfect combination of enthusiasm, empathy and common sense.  We believe that courage and passion are the key to making changes effective and taking new approaches that work.

In the mountains and in the political arena you have to know you can depend on your team. That’s why we need people who are the best fit for our organisation and vice-versa. People with knowledge and experience, curiosity and an open mind. People who love new challenges and tricky assignments, are committed to the team and our clients, and give us their trust. People who approach both routine tasks and the creative/unconventional projects that we encounter in our work with the same professional attitude and dependability – whether they’re a career starter or a seasoned consultant.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THE ASCENT WITH US

Are you interested in a career in political strategy consulting as a member of the 365 Sherpas team? We can offer you the following entry and development options:

You can join us as an Associate if you have completed a degree programme with a political, social, business or communications specialisation and have initial work experience at an agency specialising in public affairs, political PR and media relations, or at a political institution, company or association.

You’ll be a full member of our team of consultants right from day one and, during your first three years with us, you’ll gain the professional competence you need to develop your consultant personality and guide clients. Very soon you’ll be taking on responsibility for individual projects in an inspiring and interesting work environment. What we need from you is a creative mind-set, a flexible approach to work, above-average commitment and the courage to go the distance.

Ideally, you’ll have at least three years of professional experience at an agency specialising in public affairs, political PR and media relations, in politics or in political communications for an enterprise or association.

As a Senior Associate you are responsible for the process-oriented and targeted leadership of a client-specific team with up to five members. In a work environment that is both challenging and stimulating, supported by individual training programmes, you have the opportunity to develop your consultant personality and build your personal strengths.

As Associate Director you will have at least five to seven years of professional experience at an agency specialising in public affairs, or political PR and media relations, or in political communications at a company, political institution or association. You are responsible for the formative development of one or more key accounts, or for the agency’s main consultancy fields, for the creation of client teams and for their process-oriented and targeted management. A stimulating work environment and individual training programmes support you in achieving your personal development goals.

PREPARING FOR THE NEXT ASCENT

Our basic training package for career starters includes courses on presentation skills, project management, concept/strategy development, creativity, storytelling, content management and digital topics. We also promote the development of your consultant personality by assigning a more experienced consultant to you as mentor, with additional individual training and with feedback interviews.

Targeted training at all levels supports the development of professional skills and the achievement of personal development goals.

We hold regular dialogue lunches. They are an informal opportunity to sit around the table with people in politics, business and society, and to gain key insights by discussing their work and their positions on current political issues.
